About Our Curly Birch Plantation
Spread across 50 hectares, our plantation consists of 82,000 trees, planted with a density of 1,600 trees per hectare. The plantation is meticulously maintained, including regular pruning, to ensure the best possible quality of curly birch wood.
Available Products
From our previous thinning operations, we currently offer two-year-dried curly birch lumber. The logs are sawn on two opposite sides (surfaced/edged) and are available in the following dimensions:
- Length: Up to 75 cm
- Thickness: 35 mm, 45 mm, 55 mm, and 65 mm
A small selection of these logs has been boiled, peeled, and dried prior to sawing. This special treatment enhances the density of the curly birch wood and prevents cracking, making it ideal for high-end applications.
Upcoming Thinning in January 2025
During our upcoming thinning process, we will carefully select logs with the finest woodgrain patterns. These will include curly birch lumber with diameters of 6–12 cm in varying lengths. Freshly cut logs will also be available for purchase.
As the thinning operations continue, both the quantity and quality of the available curly birch wood will increase. The distinctive curly grain, often concentrated around knots, spreads into the surrounding wood, making it even more appealing for fine woodworking projects.
